7 ways to use Zoflora

I thought it was time to introduce you to one of our all-time best selling products; Zoflora.

Home Bird loves to see what Mrs. Hinch is up to and anyone else who follows her would know how much she loves Zoflora. We couldn’t wait to bring in a range of the beautifully-scented best selling disinfectant.

I’d like to share with you some of the best points and ideas to get the most out of this incredibly versatile cleaning product, and if this is the first time you’re discovering Zoflora then here are some tips to help you never look back!

  1. It smells AMAZING. This one has to be the first one, and it’s a goodie. No matter what you clean with this product, the smell it leaves behind is a great way to round off your cleaning routine. If you’re going to use Zoflora as a room/air freshener make sure to dilute correctly according to the instructions.

  2. I really dislike the smell of stagnant water. In Australia we often have small-medium drains in bathrooms and laundry rooms and the water sits for extended periods of time. Boil your kettle and use it to flush out the stale water, then wait for the water to cool down. Pour a capful of neat Zoflora down the drain and you’ve got fresh water that’s going to stay smelling fresh for longer. Make sure you wait a reasonable amount of time for the water down the drain to cool, it is not recommended to expose undiluted Zoflora to heat.

  3. Keep your bins fresh. Make sure you check manufacturer instructions for your specific bin to clarify whether the surface can withstand chemical use. If you are going to use this to keep your bin fresh, first use diluted Zoflora to clean out the inside of the bin. When you’ve done that place a cotton pad (or two) at the bottom of the bin with diluted product and each time your bin opens and closes you should get a hint of scent to help mask the odours which come from everyday rubbish. Don’t forget about nappy bins for this trick!

  4. A question that many of you may ask has been answered. Zoflora kills Covid-19. Yep, you read that correctly. Not only does it smell amazing, but it has been tested in a laboratory and has been proven to kill coronaviruses, including Covid-19 when used at the dilution of 1:40 for 1 minute contact time.

  5. All-purpose disinfectant. Get yourself an 800ml trigger spray bottle and dilute 2 capfuls of Zoflora for a beautifully fragranced effective disinfectant. Use in the kitchen, bathroom, on door handles and other regularly touched surfaces. Think remote controls and keyboards. Remember that for effective disinfecting, the surface should be cleaned prior to using disinfectant.

  6. Freshen up your bedding. Add 2 capfuls of Zoflora into your washing machine rinse cycle to help eliminate any odours but also 99.9% of bacteria and viruses. This can be useful for lots of other washing (think towels, throws, and change mat covers) but make sure to test first for colour fastness.

  7. Outside of the home, Zoflora can be used to clean the surfaces inside your car and leave it smelling lovely and fresh, with less of a need for car air fresheners. How about if you’ve recently cleaned your wheelie bins? It’s one of the more smelly jobs that’s for sure, but if you do this once or twice a month you can avoid a build up of strong odours and bacteria and make the trips out to the bin not so unappealing.
We’ve given you 7 ways to use Zoflora but we’d like to end by noting ways NOT to use Zoflora too. It should not be used on polished wood, painted, varnished or composite granite surfaces. Do not spray directly onto or near naked flames or electronic devices. You should always spot test fabric for colour fastness. The rule with most (if not, all) cleaning chemicals is to NOT mix them. Both the liquid and the fumes can be harmful if used incorrectly.

At Home Bird we stock several scent varieties such as; linen fresh, twilight garden, and Midnight Blooms. Keep an eye out for any limited edition fragrances too!
